Iodoral is an iodine supplement tablet containing 5mg iodine and 7.5mg iodide as the potassium salt. To prevent gastric irritation, Iodoral's iodine/iodide preparation is absorbed into a colloidal silica excipient; and to eliminate the unpleasant taste of iodine, Iodoral's tablets are coated with a thin film of pharmaceutical glaze.

Other Ingredients:
Micosolle®, a silica-based excipient containing a non-ionic surfactant, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable stearines and pharmaceutical glaze.

Contains no added starch, salt, wheat, gluten,
corn, coloring, or dairy products.

Keep container tightly closed in a cool,
dry and dark place. Keep out of reach of children.

Recommended Dosage: After testing deficient in Iodine the suggested dosage of Iodoral to gain whole body sufficiency is 2 Iodoral iodine supplement tablets in the morning and 2 in the evening. A retest is suggested after 3 months.

Once whole body sufficiency is gained the Iodoral maintenance dosage is 1 tablet daily. Persons with Thyroid disorders should work closely with their health care professional.

Unlikely but possible side effects:

If you experience any of the following, stop ingesting this supplement and contact your physician: acne-like skin lesions in certain areas of your body, headache in the frontal sinus, unpleasant brassy taste, increased salivation and sneezing

While the optimal iodine supplementaion level varies by individual, insight may be gained by studies of the mainland Japanese people. On average they ingest 13.8 mg daily, and are one of the healthiest people on the planet. (1)

Several studies have shown correlation between low iodine intake and fibrocystic disease of the breast. (2,3) The thyroid gland needs iodine to function properly, in an older study, 9 mg iodide daily was used to control goiter in teenage girls.(4)

Several studies have shown connection between inadequate iodine/iodide intake and breast cancers.(5)
